Humble Emails & Blog
Our email newsletters were a major driver for bundle sales.
Each email was a relatively simple visual layout of the bundle’s lineup. I was primarily responsible for the subject line and, on some, little pieces of jokey “flavor text” that sat under the bundle title and that described the duration at the very bottom of the email. Each subject line we A/B tested, and the longer I was there, the better idea I got of what worked and didn’t work.
We took a similar approach to the blog, but what we also included in the blog were posts about site updates and charities we worked with, so the blog was our primary source for long-form company announcements. We hosted it on Tumblr, so we had followers in that community, and it was accessible to everyone from our site header.
First are examples of emails, though I’m missing the subject lines, so I kept those to a few, and then a variety of blog posts, which are more writing-centric.
