Humble Facebook & Twitter
One of our greatest strengths at Humble was our community. We had hundreds of thousands of followers on Facebook and Twitter, due to a mixture of deals and style.
I started off as one of two people writing social media posts, but before I knew it, it was primarily me. While I made sure to make the big announcements, I tried to keep things interesting with puns and silly ways of announcing our promotions.
Twitter gave us the most ability to have fun because we didn’t have to deal with an algorithm in the same way as Facebook, so our strategy was to largely only announce the release of bundles and sales on Facebook and then take to Twitter for more frequent goofy posts about the individual games in the bundles.
We also used social media as a way to promote the charities we worked with and let people know the impact they were making through their purchases.
Below, I have the Facebook posts first so that you can get idea of our bundle announcements and then the goofiness of Twitter that followed (including compliments — at least I take them all as compliments — from our followers!).
