Woot Brand Descriptions
One of the many areas at Woot where we were able to take liberties with common marketing best practices is we put stupidity before accuracy with the “about” sections for the brands we sold.
Before you feel too much sympathy for those brands, keep in mind that it came with the territory of being on Woot! And besides, it wasn’t like we were doing anything (too) mean, but if we saw an opening for a joke in a brand name, we had fun with it, keeping with the irreverent approach to copy that endeared Woot to many customers.
Some of these aren’t necessarily brand descriptions because we’d also have plus sales that sold products from multiple brands. In those cases, we’d still use the space where we ordinarily showcased brands, but we used that space to talk about the product category instead.
