Humble Packaging
Part of what made the pay-what-you-want model work is that most of what we sold was digital, but every now and then we’d have physical products at a higher tier for people who paid more.
For this Humble Indie Bundle 15, the item was a “blind box” toy, which is where you buy the box not knowing which specific item you’re going to get.
The design of these was based on one of the games in the bundle, Gang Beasts, but instead of the characters from that game, they were characters based on the games in the bundle, so we named them “HIB Beasts.”
For the box design, we did a short write-up on the back and then did a yearbook sort of thing with a visual and one-liner about each character on the sides.
